Our lead-equivalent acrylic window product offers protective radiation shielding that is safer than leaded glass. ClearShield is a bi acrylic, transparent, non-lead radiation safety “glass” manufactured in the USA. Because our material contains no lead (Pb), ClearShield panels are made using production and machining processes that safe for both our team members and the environment.
The protective radiation attenuating compound present in ClearShield panels is comprised primarily of bismuth (Bi), an element that has a higher X-ray attenuation coefficient than lead.
It has been tested successfully for radiological protective equipment. Bismuth is the heaviest stable, non-radioactive, environmentally-safe and non-toxic element. Bismuth has a successful history with medical applications.

ClearShield is currently offered in .5mm and 1mm lead equivalency, with custom lead equivalency thicknesses available upon request. Shatter-resistant and machinable, ClearShield can be custom-fabricated for specific needs.
